The "My LJ" option is weird :-/

Wow, so I haven't posted in LJ in a little over a month. I think it's because I've been actually using my real journal which I'm sort of exicted/sad about ending. I've had it since I was 13 and it's the only journal I've ever stuck with.

So about a month ago, I go to visit my best friend who lives about an hour away from here. We go to Blockbuster and the guy who bags our movies was cute in a dorky way although I didn't realize it until she mentioned it a few hours later. So ever since then, we always go to Blockbuster and we never find him. The last time we went, one of the employees there asked if we were looking for someone. My friend rattles on about how I have a crush on this guy and blah blah blah. The employee gives me a look that says "Aww, that's so cute!" and I was so embarassed that I walked out, dying of laughter. The employee told her that she would tell him. So we're thinking he probably has a Myspace since it seems like everyone and their dog has one, although I don't have a dog so I wouldn't know. She ends up finding some guy that looks like him, from what we remember and it ended up being him. Turns out the employee did tell him about that girl who likes him a.k.a. me. If I was him, I probably would have put a restraining order up against us but he seemed really cool about the whole thing and surprisingly, he remembered us. Anyway, it's been a fun little adventure.

School is good although I have no idea what I'm planning to do in order to qualify as a sophomore next year. My math class doesn't count towards my class status (there goes 8 units) so I'm half tempted to try out summer school. I really don't know, I'll think about it when the time comes.

And tomorrow is one month until I'm finally 18 yay! :)

OTH is quickly becoming one of my favorite shows again.

What's the big deal about My Space? 4 out of 5 times I see someone online, they're on myspace.com. And yes, I do have one. I guess I'm just an LJ type of girl.

Airborne is the absolutely grosses thing ever and it's giving me shivers. I hate illnesses especially when you have an essay due Thursday.

Anyone willing to give hugs, por favor? :)

Today I got an email on FirstClass (my school's email system) from someone who I knew in 7 & 8th grade! Who knows, maybe we'll be friends again despite not talking for the past four years. I like seeing people from your past; it makes you realize how much you've changed since then.

Having dinner with your mom and brother makes you realize how much you miss them even though they're only a hop, skip, and a jump away.

I am in love with "Soul Meets Body" by Death Cab for Cutie. I had no clue they were releasing another album. (To download, click the link and then click Free on download type. Wait for the file to show up for download.) I would have used YSI but it was being bitchy.

I love CSUMB. I've met a ton of great people here, expecially my neighbor and some other girls in another dorm. I don't think my roomate likes me but I might move when they start accepting room changes. The majority of freshmen here are really open to meeting new people. I'm so glad I chose to go here because it's so different from the way my high school is.

One of my new friends burned me Damien Rice's O and his voice is absolutely breathtaking. It's just gorgeous. I had completely forgotten about the song, Canonball. I was also inspired by her to finish my journal, my actual physical one. It'd be nice to have when I'm older.

Edit: My roomate is cool. I was wrong about her. It's amazing how far communication can take a person.

I got tagged by salilu
1. Go into your LJ’s archive.
2. Find your 23rd post (or closest to).
3. Find the fifth sentence (or closest to).
4. Post the text of the sentence in your blog along with these instructions. 5. Tag 5 people on your friend list

fifth sentence: The realization is here now, today.

I tag: Anyone who hasn't already been tagged. :)

Someone drag me away from my luggage and take me to see Coldplay Friday night, please?! Ah well, guess that won't happen. I'll settle for the next best thing: moving in. :-/

Someone shoot me for liking Wake Up by Hilary Duff. I think I still have a soft spot for her leftover from my Lizzie fangirl days of 7th grade.

I think I have a slight crush on Guy Berryman. It might been the hair but then again, Moses helps.

Happy early birthday, Shabana! (eternitybreaks) I'm posting this early since I don't know when I'll get a chance to post over the weekend. I hope you have an awesome time on your trip and the best birthday! *hugs*

My grandmother came to visit us a few days ago. She lives less than a block away from me and I see my Nana (grandma on my mom's side) who lives half an hour away more often. When I was younger, I always tried to find that innate goodness in her, the one that's supposed to be in everyone. Needless to say I didn't find it. Instead of giving me time when I was younger, she'd give me crappy gifts or money. Now that my uncle has a toddler (and another on the way), I hear her go on about how she loves to babysit him. I can't deny the fact that it hurts, even now, as much as I hate to admit it. She told me to come visit her in Las Vegas when she moves. I told her I couldn't.

*waves* Bye Queer as Folk. You were and are a kick ass show. I'm going to miss my B/J fix amongst another things. :( The thumpa thumpa goes on, it always will.

I talked to Pip yesterday and it's nice to know someone shares my college fears with me. I talked to Isaura today and it's nice to know someone also shares my excitement.

Happy Left Handers Day on the 13th to fellow lefties on my flist (if there are any)! Roughly 13% of the world is left handed.'Tis a hard life we live where the ink smears when you write and you have to turn your Scantron at an angle to fill in those evil little slants.

The other day I went shopping for dorm stuff and got excited when I got my own bottle of Pine Sol. How sad is that?

I went to San Francisco yesterday with my mom and brother. It's so much different in the city than it is here. I like being immersed in its culture where there are so many different races and types of people. Here, the majority of people are Mexican-American, myself included. Spanish, which I hardly know, is as universal around these parts as English is to the U.S.

I went with Hazel to Starbucks on Tuesday night. We talked to Josh while he was on break. You never realize how much you miss them until you're with them again. It's hard to believe we're not going to be at the same place next year. Thankfully, they're always within reach. Later on, we went to go play DDR. God I suck at that game.

QAF ends on Sunday. Seems like Josh was telling me about Brian/Justin only yesterday. *sigh*

I finished HBP a few days ago. I couldn't believe who she killed! Nonetheless, I can't believe there's so much JK hate going around the fandom.

Songs I'm enamored with at the moment:
-Razorlight - somewhere else
- U2 - city of blinding lights
- Beck - girl
- Coldplay - for you / the hardest part / a message (which is my most played on winamp)
- Idlewild - i understand it
- Keane - your eyes open
- Snow Patrol - ways & means

I take back what I said about not being tired of "Speed of Sound." It's practically being pimped out everywhere. And as for that "Crazy Frog" song I had never heard of that beat Coldplay, I just want to kill that frog everytime I hear it. I'm glad I'm American, it sheltered me from it for a few months.

25 more days 'til I move out. :D I can't wait.
